Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Syrah was my favorite from a mini tasting of 6 Syrahs. It opens with a very attractive blueberry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, wonderfully balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious blueberry with notes of light oak and a touch of black raspberry. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins sail along nicely. On day two, I paired this elegant Syrah with a ribeye with sautéed mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. It was a perfect match. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: In the glass, the 2006 Syrah is dark garnet, bright and clear in appearance. The plush, yet focused wine shows off bright aromas of blackberry jam, cocoa, hints of black pepper and toast mixed with a touch of spice as the finish lingers effortlessly against supple tannins.
