Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Napa Cabernet opens with a black cherry like bouquet with a hint of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a blueberry and black cherry blend with pronounced oak that saturates the wine. I also detected some black pepper and a little blackberry as well. The finish is quite dry and this wine’s tannins are very substantial for a 2009. They are present both on the palate and in the finish. This wine needs to be decanted and to be served with a thick cut marbled ribeye. Enjoy it slowly over a long dinner. Cheers – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a graceful decadence with opulent blackberry, cassis, and ambrosial raspberry preserves revealing hints of cedar, violets, cinnamon, and brown sugar. This wine is rich, concentrated, and lush in texture, all balanced by bright acidity.
