Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Pedroncelli over-delivers for the money. It opens with a bouquet of blackberry, dark cherry and a hint of blueberry and black pepper. On the palate, we found this wine to be medium bodied, smooth, velvety and juicy. Its flavor profile is a blend of blackberry, cherry-cola and cassis. The flavors extend thru the finish with notes of nutmeg, spice and some gentle minerality appearing towards the end. We would suggest pairing this Zin with short ribs. - Karen & Stuart
Winemaker Notes: Our Mother Clone is a classic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel with aromas of red and black berries with a touch of warm baking spices. The concentrated flavors of raspberry and blackberry combine with vanilla, toasty oak, pepper and a dash of nutmeg. The spicy-berry dynamic so typical of Dry Creek Zin combines smooth tannins and a spicy finish which are a hallmark of our style. Enjoy now or cellar for three to five years.
