Wine Review: This pale straw colored Albarino opens with a fragrant lime bouquet with hints of nectarine and lemon. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and savory. The flavor profile is a saline and lemon tea blend with notes of chalky minerality and lime zest. It rounds out with some grapefruit pith towards the very end. The finish is dry and refreshing. I would serve this Albarino slightly chilled and would pair it with a Ritz cracker encrusted baked haddock. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Albariño is a very lively pale gold, with green reflections. Pazo Cilleiro has an intense nose, with pronounced notes of citrus and white fruit (pears, apples and white peaches), as well as floral hints. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with the fruit from the nose filling the mouth. It has the typical intense texture of a well-grown Albariño, with a round, persistent and pleasantly refreshing finish. Albariño is a refreshing wine served chilled, on its own, or with most fish or shellfish, from oysters to sushi, and ceviche.
