Wine Review: This slightly hazy and ruby colored Syrah from Pax opens with a black pepper and mulberry bouquet with hints of pomegranate and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, seamless, and fresh. The flavor profile is juicy black plum and blueberry blend with notes of cedar and tobacco. I also detected hints of chalky minerality and cured meat. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and refines tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Syrah with venison stew. Enjoy - Ken
