Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Paul Hobbs opens with a boysenberry jam bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and loaded with ripe fruit. The flavor profile a ripe blackberry and boysenberry jam blend with notes of Dr. Pepper. I also detected a hint of raspberry tea, gentle oak and mild minerality behind all the fruit. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger for quite some time after it is gone. This extracted fruit bomb is big boy wine that will be enjoyed a lot by readers who enjoy this style. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep violet in color, this lush yet stately Pinot Noir seduces with aromas of black raspberry, violets, sassafras, clove and cocoa butter. Juicy red fruits, earl gray tea, hazelnut and damp red clay flavors complement its velvet-like texture and very long finish.
