Wine Review: I am big fan of the Dr. Crane Vineyard. It always seems to produce top notch wines. This one is no exception. It is dark ruby colored and opens with an attractive black currant and red cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and eucalyptus. On the palate, thus wine is medium to full bodied, fruit forward and has a very nice presence. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant and black plum blend with notes of pomegranate and very nicely integrated oak and faint minerality. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well controlled and stick around nicely. I would pair this very nice Cabernet with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Behind the deep amethyst color lies an intense and brooding wine with aromas of dark wild berries, sandalwood, cedar, lavender, and bacon fat. Mouthwatering blueberry and spice cake flavors are interwoven with a solid core of faceted, ultra-fine grain tannin. Textured and seamless, this wine shows exceptional purity and harmony, and the finish is long, taught, and complex.
