Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Franc from Paul Buisse is a very good value. It opens with a shy black cherry bouquet with hints of light loam, cured meat, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is a mild black currant and gentle black tea blend with notes of nutmeg, cedar, gentle earth, and a touch of stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for a while. This Cab Franc opened up with some aeration. It went well with our marinated barbecue steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This medium bodied, ruby red Cabernet Franc embodies the heart of Chinon, one of the Loire Valley’s most famous appellations. This everyday wine is bright and fruit forward with aromatic length. Red currant and black fruit aromas reveal a hint of spice that precedes a fresh palate with well-rounded tannins. A balanced acidity makes this wine food friendly.
