Wine Review: This is a delicious weeknight bottle of wine from France. It is a bright deep purple color, and has a very aromatic bouquet with blackberry, black currant, pickle barrel, pencil shavings and a hint of bell pepper. On the palate it is a fresh, easy drinker with a medium body, medium acidity and is fruity, smooth and balanced. I got flavors of tart cherry, red raspberry, cranberry and black pepper along with some oak, earthy mushrooms and violets. There are supple yet grippy tannins in the extended slightly spicy finish. This would pair with a big plate of braised chicken and root vegetables. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: This medium bodied, everyday Cabernet Franc leads with strawberry and raspberry aromas peppered with hints of laurel. Bright and fruit-forward with well-rounded tannins, the fresh palate finishes with a clean acidity that pairs excellently with soft cheeses and grilled meats.
