Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a pear and wet stone bouquet with hints of caramel. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fresh and very savory. The flavor profile is a really tasty apple with notes Bartlett pear, butterscotch, and pronounced oak that shows up more at the end. The finish is dry and is slides away nicely. This Chardonnay would pair well with Emeril’s crab cakes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is one of our finest bottlings of Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay in memory, and like many of our wines from the spectacular 2009 vintage, it is richly textured with beautiful density and depth. The nose offers classic Hyde notes of marmalade and ginger, with layers of cedar and smoke adding a complex counterpoint. On the palate, the citrus and orange peel flavors combine with notes of summer melon, grilled pineapple, pear, cinnamon, clove and a hint of honey. Though the acidity is subtle and integrated, in tandem with Hyde’s signature minerality, it gives the wine energy and drive.
