Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah based wine from Paraduxx opens with a black plum and blackberry bouquet with hints of nutmeg and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, very well-balanced and velvety. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild black raspberry and blueberry blend with notes of cocoa, minerality and black cherry. We also detected hints of baking spice and gentle oak mixed in. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. The Panel would pair this Syrah with braised short ribs, a Tuscan veal chop or just sip by the fireplace with Point Reyes Toma cheese. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This classic Rhône-inspired co-fermentation of Syrah and Viognier is beautifully aromatic, with inviting floral, plum, vanilla and holiday spice layers, as well as more savory notes of sandalwood, cedar and nutmeg. On the palate, generous red and blue fruit flavors are framed by supple, flowing tannins that carry the wine to a long, focused finish.
