Wine Review: This dark red colored Grenache from Rioja opens with a pomegranate and loam bouquet with notes of pencil lead and red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, super smooth and polished. The flavor profile is a tasty mild pomegranate and stone dust blend with notes of black tea and red plum. I also detected a triple sec, dried herbs, strawberry, and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Grenache with a shepherd's pie. Enjoy – Ken
