Wine Review: This dark red colored Grenache based wine from Spain is a great value that over delivers. It opens with a fragrant red raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and strawberry blend with hints of gentle oak, minerality and a touch of cherry-cola. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. This wine is food friendly and very versatile. I would pair it with German "Hunter's" pork cutlets with a creamy mushroom sauce. (Jagerschnitzel). Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 La Montesa is incredibly well-balanced with velvety red-fruit notes and hints of sweet spice, orange peel and dulcet yellow peaches found both in the nose and on the palate. An exceptional, Mediterranean Garnacha-based wine, every vintage La Montesa is perfect when enjoyed by-the-glass on its own, or when paired with any kind of cuisine.
