Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored wine opens with a fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with notes of old oak and black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, jammy and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe and extracted blackberry with notes of plum. I also detected a hint of minerality, nectarine, and mild old oak hidden behind the fruit. The finish is dry and subtle. If you are looking for a good value, fruit bomb like wine. Then this one is for you. Serve it with messy ribs and enjoy. Ken
Winemaker Notes: Made by famed Spanish winemaker, Alvaro Palacios, La Vendimia is a blend of Spain’s two original star varieties: Tempranillo and Garnacha. Lively and pleasing on the palate, it has delicious aromas of fresh berries, red flowers and ripe orchard fruit with hints of sweet spice. Meant to drink now through the next four years, this enjoyable wine can be served slightly chilled and is the perfect accompaniment to any dish.
