Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from Oregon is a very nice weekday offering. It opens with mild black cherry and gentle vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and red currant blend with nicely integrated mild oak and faint minerality. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger for a little while. This Pinot is a very good value offering and it would pair well with Nana’s meat lasagna. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 of Sharecropper's Pinot Noir is a shining example of what Oregon Pinot is all about; bold, spicy fruit balanced my lovely acidity. This Pinot Noir has earthy aromas of wild strawberries, porcini mushrooms, sweet cherry compote. Wild strawberries are present on the palate as well, with cinnamon and clove. The mouthfeel is silky with bright acidity on the finish. Enjoy this wine with grilled salmon and roasted squash for a lovely weeknight meal. We recommend drinking this wine now, however it will also cellar well from 2014-2020.
