Wine Review: This midnight blue colored blend from Washington State is very nice and friendly. It opens with a pleasant black cherry bouquet with a hint of flint stone and cola. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced, smooth and easy going. The flavor profile is black cherry with notes of mild minerality and red plum. I also detected a hint of blueberry as well. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are soft and easy. This crowd pleasing wine is a drink now offering. You can quaff it with Nana’s beef lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The initial aromatics show bright Cabernet Franc spice notes of cinnamon, anise and pink peppercorn. A blast of pretty plum fruit and firm tannins boasts a well-rounded mouthfeel with hints of subtle oak toast and dusty earth. Pair this bold red wine with smoked ribeye for the ultimate luxury as we wrap up the winter.
