Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from Oregon is delicate and salmon friendly. It opens with a mild strawberry bouquet with hints of Dr. Pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and quite elegant. The flavor profile is a gentle strawberry with hints faint cola and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. I would enjoy this Pinot in the near term. It would be a perfect complement to a baked pistachio-crusted Chinook salmon with a ginger-cardamom yogurt sauce, glazed beets and grilled summer squash. Yum! - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2013 vintage Oregon Pinot Noir is a remarkably balanced wine from established Yamhill-Carlton District vineyards- Lenne Vineyard and Merriman Vineyard. Always a favorite amongst our friends and wine writers alike, the 2013 "The Kilmore" Pinot Noir is another breakthrough wine, showcasing the beautifully elegant flavor profiles from this appellation. Some may say that 2013 was a challenging harvest in the Willamette Valley, however this wine proves to be another solid wine for collectors.
