Wine Review: This ruby colored red blend from Washington State opens with a cranberry and pomegranate bouquet with hints of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a juicy red plum with notes of minerality and black raspberry. I also detected a hint of dark chocolate, blueberry, and olive towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are not edgy. They do stick around for quite a long time. This wine benefits from some air, decant it and serve it with a full rack of Sticky Fingers slathered barbecue ribs this summer. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This signature Yakima Valley Red Wine is a unique blend of the varietals we feel best represent each vintage. Chosen from several vineyards in the Yakima Valley, with a medium ruby hue that leads to aromas of raspberry, candied cherry, pink peppercorn, sage and mulling spices. The palate is brimming with ripe red plum and complex notes of black tea, savory herbs, yellow bell pepper and cinnamon. The 2012 vintage leaves a sweet and lingering finish with firm tannins.
