Wine Review: This dark ruby Cab Franc from the Yakima Valley in Washington opens with a shy black cherry bouquet with a hint of earth and thyme. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a tasty mild black raspberry with nicely integrated mild oak and red currant. There was also a touch of black pepper detected as well. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are gentle. Pair this food friendly Cab Franc with a Colorado rack of lamb. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Rosa Mystica is deeply aromatic with scents of cranberries, rhubarb, roasted peppers, purple flowers, star anise, cedar, and black soil. On the palate, lively red and deep black fruits take center stage, gentle tannins and livley acids emerge in a beautiful and lingering finish. Drink now through 2015.
