Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Orin Swift opens with a gentle black currant and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with nicely integrate medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and round. The flavor profile is a black licorice, blackberry, and black currant blend. I also detected hints of cedar, black cherry, and graphite. The finish is rather dry. Its sticky and dusty tannins build-up and last for a very long time. This Cab will benefit from some decanting. I would pair it with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The bountiful 2018 vintage allowed us more versatility than ever before with Palermo. Fruit for this wine was sourced from many Napa Valley vineyards including Sun Lake, Heitz, Cypress and Stagecoach. It is a dark crimson colored with a blue band, the nose presents immediate aromas of boysenberry, currants, graphite, cedar, fir ash and vanilla. Seamless on the entry with resounding energy, the mid-palate features lush blackberry and Bing cherry as well as a hint of sweet red licorice. Long, complex tannins punctuate the finish with an elegant and tapering note of black tea.
