Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored wine from Orin Swift is very good. It opens with flinty blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a cassis and plum blend with notes of blackberry and hints of minerality and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a little bit. This wine would pair well with braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: An alluring inky-purple achievement, the 2014 Abstract is replete with a vivid nose of red and black stone fruits, candied cherry, cassis, dried floral notes, and sweet oak accents. Fleshy and spirited, the wine evolves into a very complex flavor profile of dark berry preserve, raspberry jam, Asian spices, mocha, chaparral, and a hint of crushed rock minerality. An underlying acidity leads to a graceful and fine tannin chain that is seemingly endless.
