Wine Review: This brick red colored Zinfandel from Opolo opens with a fruity black cherry bouquet that includes hints of strawberry licorice, light black pepper and a touch of oak. The medium bodied and well-structured palate included raspberries, black cherry, black licorice and some black pepper. The finish is slightly dry, smooth and displays with well-managed tannins that fade away nicely. I would pair this Paso Zin with a classic sloppy Joe sandwich. – Joe
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Summit Creek Zinfandel is big and fruit forward yet nuanced and elegant at the same time. Bold fruit flavors, velvety smooth tannins, and just the right amount of barrel age make it an enjoyable wine for any occasion.
