Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from the Old Hill Ranch opens with a slightly heady black plum and dried cherry bouquet with hints of cola and red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, structured and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty, crushed stone and spiced black plum blend with notes of black cherry and cedar. We also detected hints black tea and anise. The finish is dry and its bold and grippy tannins build-up and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would initially pair this Zin with a cellar. After a year or so, we would likely decant it. With aeration, it mellows nicely. We would pair it with burnt ends or braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
