Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Monastrell is very good. It opens with a red plum and strawberry bouquet with hints of cinnamon and rhubarb. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is blackberry and black tea blend with notes of oak and spice. I also detected hints of loam, black pepper, and soy. The finish is dry and its moderate round tannins stick around for quite some time. I would pair this very good value Monastrell with a juicy bacon and sauteed mushroom cheeseburger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby. Ripe, powerful aromas of red and dark fruits, minerals, and spices. Finishes fresh and long, with a repeating dark fruit note.
