Wine Review: This opaque and pitch black wine from O'Brien has aged very well. I shared this with friends and most were amazed how well the fruit flavors were showing and held up over the years. It opened with a fragrant black currant bouquet with notes of espresso and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich and still very concentrated. The flavor profile was a tasty black cherry liquor with notes of oak and minerality. I also detected hints of black licorice. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins were very nicely prolonged. This big boy still will benefit from decanting and would pair well with a New York Strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
