Wine Review: This plum colored wine opens with a fragrant pomegranate bouquet with hints of cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a juicy red currant with nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of black cherry, old oak, and cranberry cocktail. The finish is rather dry and its sticky tannins linger for quite a while. This wine would pair well with spicy foods. I would suggest General Gau’s Chicken or Spicy Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Akin to a bright red ruby in its color and rarity, Nita is a unique gem from the Spanish appellation of Priorat. The 2011 Nita is perfect for those who want to taste the fruit and terroir of a wine in its purest form. Bright red in color and clean on the palate, this wine has a juicy entry that is supported by delicate minerality and notes of ripe cherries. Meant to drink now or age up to five years, this enjoyable wine is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes including BBQ, Chinese, Italian and American cuisine.
