Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Shiraz from Nine Stones is pretty impressive given its price point. It opens with a pretty boysenberry and plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty gentle plum with notes of mild minerality. I also picked up some hints of black pepper and black olive along the way. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely restrained. This Shiraz would pair well with veal osso buco. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Colour - Bright youthful purples and dark red Bouquet - An intensely aromatic wine with exciting and full exotic chocolate, minty, black cherry characters, with some white pepper overlaid with subtle oak character. Palate - Very sweet fruit with fine grained tannins persistent, which is a hallmark of this vineyard; excellent fleshy middle palate, and a long subtle and satisfying finish. Serving suggestion: An ideal food wine. Serve with red wine or Italian pizza.
