Wine Review: This translucent and very pale white gold colored Riesling from Nik Weis opens with pink grapefruit, ginger, and matchstick bouquet with hints of saline, apple blossom and lemon zest. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, bright, smooth, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a candied ginger, pineapple, and iced green tea blend with notes of white peach. We also picked up some hints of saline and lemon-lime. The finish is pleasantly sweet and its flavors and well-managed acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this Spätlese level Riesling with your favorite pork schnitzel recipe. Enjoy – KWGTP
