Wine Review: This shiny white gold colored Riesling from Mosel was well received by all those that tried it. It opens with a gentle lemon-lime bouquet with a faint hint of herbal tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and has a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a mineral infused lime with notes of ginger. I also detected hints of pineapple, apricot and a touch of honeycomb mixed in. The finish is off-dry and drifts away nicely. I would pair this Riesling with Emeril’s crab cake. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The almost salty minerality makes the Wiltinger "Alte Reben" finish off-dry even though we left a line of natural residual sweetness, which makes this wine such a great food accompaniment.
