Wine Review: This ruby colored Cab was my third favorite 2006 vintage Cab from the many single vineyard offerings from Nickel and Nickel. This wine opens with an inviting mild blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and rather smooth. The flavor is a blend of blueberry and mild black cherry with a hint of dried cranberry. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. This Cab is food friendly and would pair nicely in the near term with a filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Tench Vineyard produces a wine that is beautifully balanced and alluring. Opulent flavors of blueberry and raspberry offer a juiciness which is fat and round on the palate. The toasty oak and vanillin add complexity to this wine while retaining the elegance and charm that we expect. Round and approachable, the tannins end in a long, silky finish.
