Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling from Newport Vineyards opens with a wet stone and lime like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced and displays a gentle sweetness. The flavor profile is a tasty mild ripe green apple and lemon-lime blend. I also detected hints of nicely integrated minerality. The finish moves to off-dry and is pleasantly refreshing. This Riesling would pair nicely with Great Hill blue cheese spread on a sliced baguette. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Riesling has been our award-winning wine for several years. It is very true to how a Riesling should taste, with notes of nectarine and apple. It is fruit-forward on both the nose and the palate and is one of the most food friendly wines because of its high acidity with a balanced mouth-feel. It is known to pair well with “green” flavors such as lime, jalapeno and tomatillo (craving Mexican food yet?!)
