Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc based wine from South Africa opens with a pleasant floral and light grapefruit bouquet with hints of lime. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is a tasty stony minerality, light lime and gentle grapefruit blend with notes of green apple, white pepper, and a touch of stone fruit. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors linger nicely. I would serve this refreshing Sauvignon Blanc slightly chilled with your pool on a hot summer day. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dining on the West Coast is usually a barefoot, feel-the-sand-between-your-toes type of occasion. The region has a cold climate, but a warm, inviting people who love to entertain. The food and wine culture is marked by simple preparation of quality ingredients, with generosity in spades. Fresh fish or shellfish on the braai sings in the company of the West Coast Sauvignon Blanc by Neil Ellis. The bright acidity and ripe fruit flavors also complement the crunchy summer salads and cheese vegetable dishes.
