Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Navarro is very good. It opens with a forward oak bouquet with notes of pear. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, pretty acidic and very juicy. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear with notes of pineapple. I also detected some hints of lemon and a bit of minerality. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors are nicely extended. This Chard would pair nicely a seafood casserole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This bottling sports a wider range of Chardonnay's fruit flavors with a decreased emphasis on flavors derived from the French oak barrels. The Mendocino bottling seems lighter, crisper and more fruit-driven. While not quite as complex as the Reserve, this blend was produced from nine separate lots from four vineyard sites. Try it with chicken cooked in coconut milk with onion, ginger, cumin and coriander.
