Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Navarro opens with a fragrant ripe Bosc pear and new oak bouquet with a hint of lemon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and nicely balanced between its acidity and juicy fruit. Those fruits are a tasty ripe pear and oak blend with nicely integrated minerality and butterscotch. I also detected hints of lemon verbena in the end. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Chard is food friendly and would pair perfectly with pan-fried rainbow trout with almonds and butter. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The result is a rounded entry, Chardonnay flavors of poached pear and citrus framed with barrel and cellar flavors suggesting toasted pine nuts and butter.
