Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a mild apple and gentle oak bouquet with a hint of lemon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and crisp. The flavor profile is mineral infused vanilla oak and apple blend. I also detected a hint of butterscotch. The finish is dry and its minerality lingers for a little while. I would pair this fresh styled Chard with Asian dishes. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: After a series of morning tastings, we decided on a specific blend containing eight different 2010 Chardonnay vineyard lots. In this Mendocino bottling we aim for bright Chardonnay fruit flavors with just a kiss of oak. The weather was cool during ripening so the flavors are clean and bright and resonate with lemony clarity. We like it with local Petrale sole, quickly pan seared in butter and sprinkled with capers.
