Wine Review: This almost clear to light straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from Navarro opens with fragrant yellow grapefruit bouquet with hints of honeydew melon and lime. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced and round with some plus acidity. The flavor profile is a tasty yellow grapefruit and mineral blend with notes of green pepper. We also detected hints of lemongrass, pineapple and nectarine pit. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel suggested pairing this Sauvignon Blanc with swordfish skewer kabobs or grilled chicken apple sausage. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We ferment and age each block separately and in most vintages the results are surprisingly different. When fully ripe, the fruit from the first two plantings are pale green with herbal flavors whereas the third planting's fruit is golden at harvest with a flavor profile resembling tropical fruit; a mixture of all three lots is a winner. The resulting wine has a suave mouthfeel and bold herbaceous aromas of lime and gooseberry.
