Wine Review: This straw-colored Riesling from Navarro opens with a faint ginger bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a crusted stone and Anjou pear blend with notes of almond, green apple skin and quinine. I also detected a touch of white pepper and apricot towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Riesling would pair well with linguini and clams. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The botrytis added an apricot-honey character, but since it had not yet increased the sugar in the remaining fruit, it was possible to craft a dry wine. A cuvee was selected from the two lots, and because of ripe fruit and fresh botrytis, the wine is intense with flavors suggesting apple, pear and apricot.
