Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petit Verdot from Virginia opens with an appealing lilacs and blueberry bouquet with hints of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and silky. It is also a bit mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry and stewed black plum with notes of graphite and oak. I also detected hints of black tea and black licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and subtle tannins fade away nicely. This Petit Verdot will pair well with braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
