Wine Review: This midnight purple colored red blend from Murphy Goode opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a little juicy. The flavor profile is black plum with notes of oak and gentle minerality. I also detected a hint of black raspberry and black cherry towards the end. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. This is a nice everyday offering that is food friendly and versatile. I would pair it with meat lasagna or spaghetti with meatballs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This year's Red Blend is a soft but complex red wine comprised of different varietals to show off the great fruit flavors that our grapes in California contribute. The nose kicks in with dark aromas of black cherries and blueberries while the first taste mixes things up with raspberries and Bing Cherries. The mouthfeel is rich yet soft and has a nice long finish that invites you to take a second sip. Pair it with a pot roast, or simply with your favorite burger.
