Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Murphy Goode opens with a fragrant cranberry bouquet with a hint red currant. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is black raspberry with notes of oak. I also detected hints of red plum, blueberry and craisin. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty tannins stick around for quite a while. This wine is a classic California style Zin. It would pair well with steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: In Liar's Dice Zinfandel, we've created our most passionate wine - one that's so luscious and juicy, it'll leave you wanting more. Our 2011 vintage is a combination of both Dry Creek and Alexander Valley fruit. The Alexander Valley fruit imparts rich flavors of black cherry and blackberry jam. The Dry Creek grapes contribute black raspberry and currants. Soft, round tannins perfectly balance the sweetness of the fruit.
