Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Murphy Goode was deemed the best value Zin in our first Big Blind tasting. It opens with an inviting blackberry jam and black licorice like bouquet with hints of cherry-cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant with notes of oak, red plum, cinnamon and cherry-cola. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Zin is a full blown fruit bomb. The panel suggested pairing it with prime rib. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: In Liar's Dice Zinfandel, we’ve created our most passionate wine —one that's so luscious and juicy, it’ll leave you wanting more. Our 2010 vintage is a combination of both Dry Creek and Alexander Valley fruit. The Alexander Valley fruit imparts rich flavors of black cherry and blackberry jam. The Dry Creek grapes contribute black raspberry and currants. Soft, round tannins perfectly balance the sweetness of the fruit. Liar’s Dice was made for the backyard barbeque. It sings when paired with lip-smacking baby-back ribs, pulled-pork sandwiches, burgers or anything that combines sweet and spicy flavors.
