Wine Review: This 100% Tempranillo wine from Rioja is medium ruby in color and opens with intense cedar and balsam aromas with hints of anise and coriander. On the palate, the wine is medium to medium-plus in body, balanced and smooth with flavors of dried strawberry and cognac-soaked cherries. Having spent 30 months in oak explains the smoky and spicy vanilla edges. The tannins and acidity are mostly resolved with the heavy oak but the finish is somewhat limited. Pair with mixed grill and herb-roasted root vegetables. - Jeoff
