Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from New Zealand is terrific. It opens fragrant pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, fruit forward, and juicy. The flavor profile is a cedar infused red currant and strawberry with notes of Oolong tea. I also picked up some hints of cranberry and pomegranate towards the end. The finish is dry, subtle and fades away nice. This is a pretty complex Pinot. I would pair it with roasted pork tenderloin with a fig, prosciutto and sage butter stuffing. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Bright and rich garnet Aroma: Concentrated aromas of blackcurrants and plums are integrated with lifted floral notes and underlying hints of savoury mushroom with layers of spice, vanilla bean pod, and freshly roasted dark coffee. Tasting Notes: Fruit-forward with overt violet aromatics, this wine expresses the lime-rich soils of the High Block vineyard. Finely textured, with good concentration and a long silky mouthfeel. Food Match: Ideally matched with roasted poultry, fuller flavored seafood’s or with New Zealand lamb served with mushrooms or a rich savory sauce.
