Wine Review: This pale purple colored Syrah from South Africa opens with a black olive bouquet with notes of black licorice and beef stick and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, juicy and round. The flavor profile is a gentle blackberry and plum blend with notes of black olive. We also detected hints of cedar, dried herbs, cherry-cola and black pepper mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The Panel would pair this Syrah with beef stew or a peach glazed pork tenderloin. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This perfumed Syrah has notes of spicy citrus rind, refined black fruit, violets and lilies. The palate is elegant and restrained yet with good body and a silky texture balanced by a fresh, natural acidity. The finish is long with supple tannins. This wine will greatly benefit from decanting if enjoyed within the first 3 to 5 years after bottling.
