Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored blend from Washington State opens with a mild cherry-cola bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle black currant with notes of mild oak and a touch of minerality and faint lingering tangerine at the very end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins drift away nicely. This blend is food friendly and would pair nicely with Wiener Schnitzel with a mushroom gravy. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Initial aromas of fresh black cherry, cassis, vanilla bean and juniper berry make way for deeper scents of sweet blackberry pie and dried strawberry. The palate offers concentrated flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant and dark cherry with a touch of spice. It’s framed by firm but silky tannins for balanced elegance. Pairs well with any red meat on the grill, pork tenderloin, heavy cheeses and grilled vegetables.
