Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet from Mt. Brave tied for first place in our recent Big Blind tasting of high end reds. It opens with a mild black currant bouquet with hints of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, with superb balance and a fruit forward style. The flavor profile is a ripe black plum with notes of minerality, black currant and oak. The finish is dry and its mild tannins fade away nicely. The panel really loved this wine and suggested pairing it with a filet mignon with a wild mushroom risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 Mt. Brave Cabernet presents notes of roasted espresso, blueberry, anise, and violets with a cleansing minerality, expansive mouth feel, and great balance.
