Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Napa was one of our top finishers in our recent big blind tasting. It opens with a black currant and blueberry bouquet with a hint of vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is an oak infused black plum with hints of black cherry, oak and black pepper. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. The panel suggested pairing this tasty Merlot with tender grilled bourbon steak tips. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Chocolate of the bittersweet nature and boysenberry fruit combine with a touch of anise and the aromatic of a recently rained-on plateau forest, which are carried by the well-balanced mountain structure to present a Merlot of intense character.
