Wine Review: This blush colored Mosketto from the Piedmont region in Italy includes the Moscato Bianco and Brochetto grapes. It opens with a sweet ripe peach, tangerine, and strawberry bouquet with some hints of pear. You will note on opening and pouring that this wine is naturally carbonated. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied with light acidity. The mouthfeel is gentle bubbles, smooth, crisp, semi-sweet and slightly syrupy. The flavor profile is pear, tangerine, honey, light strawberry, and watermelon blend with a pleasant refreshing finish. At 5.5% alcohol, this is a very good simple summer quaffer served slightly chilled. This food-friendly wine would pair well with cheese and crackers, sushi, a salad or on its own. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Mosketto is made from grape must (juice), this is not ordinary must as it comes entirely from 100% aromatic Italian grapes. The light fizzle you find on your tongue is natural carbonation. The wine is fresh, sweet, and persistent with pronounced aromaticity. It’s bright pink color and delicate mousse invite the senses to discover a nose and palate bursting with ripe fruit and flowers. Goes well with strawberry shortcake and mixed berries. It also lends itself to contrasting very spicy dishes.
