Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Carmenere opens with green pepper and black raspberry bouquet with hints of smoke, black currant, violets, slate, cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic and round The flavor profile is a heavy-handed green pepper and tar blend with notes of stewed red plum, graphite and black currant. We also detected hints of black olive and moderate oak mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite a while. The Panel suggested pairing this Carmenere with Hungarian goulash or steak Florentine. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby-red with an eye-catching, violet hue. On the nose it’s complex and elegant. Pronounced, delicious aromas of ripe red and black fruit melt into inviting chocolate, mocha and brioche. The nose is well-balanced, with a little spice in the background. On the palate, it shows itself to be a wine of great Carmenère character and typicity, with rich acidity that is well balanced with the generous body. The tannins are velvety and give way to a long memorable finish. Highly recommended with red meats, spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, or lamb chops with a red wine and mushroom sauce.
