Wine Review: Portuguese reds, especially those from Alentejo, have been some of the best finds in the market. They tend to be well-priced and offer up great flavors making them some of the best values. This wine opens up with notes of plum, jammed blueberry, and hints of smoked bacon. On the palate, the notes on the nose resonate on the tongue with the addition of really dark chocolate and coffee beans. The finish is simple and straightforward but has some length to it. This would be best served with dry-rubbed ribs. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby color, with berries aromas and dark chocolate. The 7 months ageing in oak contributes to the great structure of the wine and the potential for bottle ageing.
